When you end your food on the perfect bite: By DJ Ghaffari
When you end your food on the perfect bite
There are no words to describe how perfect this feeling is-except there is. So anyway, just having good food can be a rare occurrence sometimes. Yet here you are, today, at the dinner table, ready to eat whatever prison slop your mom made for you. So, you are eyeing your plate, seeing where to start and the totally perfectly delectable food looks at you, with teary eyes, silently begging not to be eaten. Then, there is just that tomato on your plate that looks like a scientist after a failed chemistry experiment who just lost his head.
Well, you can’t just leave the tomato and not eat it. You HAVE to eat it, or the food gods will be mad. Right?
Despite this “issue”, you start eating the assortment of veggies and what have you on the plate, ignoring the tomato until only 2 pieces of food are left. The horrid, vile tomato and the sacred white sliced chicken. If it were up to me, I would BURN IT; I mean, dispose of the tomato and not eat it, but maybe that’s because I hate tomatoes. Also, you can’t end on an unsatisfying bite, it just doesn’t work. Food gods, remember? Instead, you are forced to choke it down and try not to have internal digestion failure.
Now, here comes the relief of the chicken, as you take that last bite and it is heaven in your mouth and taste like literal gold, making your entire body shiver with satisfaction. Dinner is done. Time for dessert.
AWESOME!
I love it when this happens! (I also like how you used all caps to emphasize some words)
ReplyDeleteDEFINITELY relatable. The first bite is the best!
ReplyDeleteThe way you described the experience of having to have the last bite be the best is very relatable!
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate the over complication of the entire situation. Also, the continuous referring to the "food gods" is a really funny ongoing gag.
ReplyDeleteI really like how that feels
ReplyDeleteI am hungry now...
