Easily deciding who talks first in a group of two or more people - By: Colin Nguyen

Easily deciding who talks first in a group of two or more people You’ve been there. I’ve been there. We’ve all (mostly) been there before. Yes, that feeling where you feel like you’re life just flashed before your eyes, yet you survived the incident, the feeling of awkward silence. If you’re like me, and you are a complete expert on not using language normally and casually often, then I’m sorry for your loss. On the other hand, if you’re not like me and more like the average person, you are a normal speaker, congratulations. Now, there are normally three common forms that this monster takes as it strikes, from one shy person to the next flustered guy finding out about puberty for the first time. 1.This is the easiest one to handle. You walk up to your friend and just kinda talk about whatever(drama, homework, video games, medieval weaponry), you know, the usual, not much awkwardness to be except the odd silence or offensive remark. It’s all fun and games at the first type. 2. This is a...

When you end your food on the perfect bite: By DJ Ghaffari

When you end your food on the perfect bite There are no words to describe how perfect this feeling is-except there is. So anyway, just having good food can be a rare occurrence sometimes. Yet here you are, today, at the dinner table, ready to eat whatever prison slop your mom made for you. So, you are eyeing your plate, seeing where to start and the totally perfectly delectable food looks at you, with teary eyes, silently begging not to be eaten. Then, there is just that tomato on your plate that looks like a scientist after a failed chemistry experiment who just lost his head. Well, you can’t just leave the tomato and not eat it. You HAVE to eat it, or the food gods will be mad. Right? Despite this “issue”, you start eating the assortment of veggies and what have you on the plate, ignoring the tomato until only 2 pieces of food are left. The horrid, vile tomato and the sacred white sliced chicken. If it were up to me, I would BURN IT; I mean, dispose of the tomato and n...

When You Draw a Perfect Circle by: Ella Lewis

Image
The history project is almost complete, just one sketch of Abraham Lincoln and it would all be over. You pick the obvious choice of drawing a stick figure, and you begin with the head. A squiggle here, a squiggle there, and done! He just needs a hat to complete the look. But wait! You suddenly realize that his head looks like a smashed watermelon. As a way of saying it plain, your brain creates a personage of Lincoln himself. His pencil arms push off the page and he looks at you with an incomplete set of eyes. “Fourscore and seven years ago, I was able to draw a perfect circle, and that is the truth!” he taunts. So, with a clean sheet of paper, you begin again. “No, no, no, no, no” he says as you continue making mistakes. By now your hand burns with exhaustion, and a sharp headache is setting in. You close your eyes, taking in the deepest breath you had taken in all day. With a final stroke, a final loop, the two points of where you started and ended intertwine. Yo...

When you try to draw a perfect line on your paper by: Sriram Lakamsani

Have you ever had this feeling where you know you can draw a perfect line in one try. Everybody has been in those situations. But whenever you try to draw a straight line, you will always fail because nobody is perfect in any way possible. I even tried to draw a perfect line. I mean it took me a million tries to draw a perfect line in one good try. But I cannot draw a perfect line! It is such a stressful situation for me and I do not enjoy it. I am a child that thinks that everything I do shall have a perfect outcome. But I am unable to draw a line that is perfect and straight. Since I believe everything should have a positive outcome, I think there needs to be a perfect, parallel, and professional line on my piece of paper. But I am unable to draw it and here’s why. The paper that I am trying to draw a straight line with is terrible. The paper has a nose with pimples all over it. I cannot make a straight line on this ugly piece of paper that I have. I have to be some sort o...

Getting a good grade on a project or piece of writing when you didn’t even try. Nick Gao

Getting a good grade on a project or piece of writing when you didn’t even try. AWESOME When the bell rings on the last day of school and its satisfying to know that it will be the last annoying bell you will EVER hear (Well not until next school year but I like to think of it that way). AWESOME When you get to unbox a new phone that you’ve been waiting 100 years for. Peeling the plastics off the new is is so satisfying. It also booting it up the first time. AWESOME When you are max level 45 and your friend is level 1 in a video game. AWESOME When you break the rules and not get caught. I am not saying that you should break the rules but once in a while when you do, not getting caught can be great. AWESOME

When Toilet Paper is Facing the Right Way By:Gabby Stiles

When Toilet Paper is facing the right way ………………………………………………………………………………………….. There are many unsaid rules in society about proper toilet paper etiquette. These are very easy rules to follow: 1. First of all, be sure that the toilet paper roll is present. 2. Don’t allow it to hang too close to the floor. Four squares dangling at most. 3.Finally the most important. Be sure that the toilet paper is faced in the correct direction. This means coming over the top of the roll, and not peeking out of from the back. These rules are are some of the first things you learn as a kid. Of course along with your ABC’s and 123’s, but those aren’t quite as relevant as proper toilet paper protocol. I mean let’s be honest people. Say you’re having a bad day and just want to take a simple bathroom break. You make your way there. You go inside. You go do your business. You look for the toilet paper rack. Then that’s when you see it! The toilet paper ever so gently placed over the top of the roll....
