Walking into a cool room after spending all day outside By: Caitlin Chang

The scorching sun is smoldering your skin. There’s sweat running down your face and every single spot outside feels like it’s a million degrees.
Then you decide to go inside to cool off and right when you take that step inside, you feel the blast of cool air greeting you. To me, right when I open the door, it feels like I was struck in the face with a bucket of ice cold water. And of course, there’s the breath of relief that comes with it. The satisfying “ahhhh”.
There are other ways to cool off like:
  • Popsicle method- The icy treat is always comforting and nostalgic, but within seconds, that popsicle is reduced to a sticky liquid running through your hands.
  • A dip in the pool- Taking a little dive is refreshing. The cold water that immediately hits your skin; however, we’re not going to always have our bathing suits on and there’s not always going to be a pool conveniently waiting for you.
  • Retreating to the indoors- You head back inside, you hear the A.C doing its job, and within seconds, you forget how you were burning to a crisp outside and every part of your body is cool again. The great thing about this method is that it’s always there, there’s no money involved, and it brings instant relief.
Awesome!
