Dropping your pencil and then catching it- By Chelsia Che

We’ve all been there.
You’ve just finished writing a long essay or grading papers, and it’s time for a snack break. You set your trusty pencil down, but just as you’re about to leave, the pencil shifts.
Adrenaline pumps through your veins as you watch it roll faster and faster, building up enough speed to rival Sonic The Hedgehog. In a split second, the pencil meets The Edge. With a great swan dive, it flies off the table into the dark abyss we call the floor. But you aren’t going to let that happen. Although you know the chances of you catching the pencil is nearly impossible, you aren’t a poor Bronze Age peasant who picks up things from the floor.
With arm held high and hand open wide, the pencil miraculously falls into your closing fist, safe and sound once more. Congratulations, you’re a professional ninja.
AWESOME!
I think your use of the various references scattered throughout add lots of relatability for anyone, whether they are older, younger, or a skeleton from the medieval ages. A very fun, short, and simplistic read for me.
ReplyDeleteThe detail and thought put into this describes the experience so well. "With a great swan dive" is probably my favorite line because I can just feel the suspense.
ReplyDeleteI really like the humor in this one
