I Believe

           I BELIEVE
I believe when a person gets something new, no matter the price or value, it will eventually get old and the person will want more

When I was in about 4th grade, smartwatches were just getting released. I really wanted to try one so my parents got one. At first I was very happy but in about 2-3 months I started getting tired of it and begged for more. My parents were nice and got me another one for my birthday this time over $100. But like anything I eventually got tired of it and was wanting a new one.

I have went through a lot of watches and smartwatches throughout my life and spent hundreds until I finally learned that no matter the price or product , people will eventually get used to it and not think it’s much anymore. This doesn’t only apply to watches, it could be a new car or even a new house, there are infinite things people could want in the world. Even if a person is to get everything on this Earth, he will eventually get used to it and strive for more.

It is human nature to want more and it’s not always a bad thing, but in some cases it is too much and people could end up spending too much money or time on it. To help with this urge of getting everything in the world I stop and think “do I really need it?” or “ can I survive without it?” Preventing the urge of getting new shoes or a new jacket when it can still be worn can make a person go a long way because even if a person was able to get the thing of their dreams, the satisfaction of having it will not last forever.
